Even for those of us that “stay out of the heat” a lot of the time, in life almost always you at least have to “walk through the kitchen” every once in a while. Every now and again whether you like it or not you have to get your hands dirty, some people love that aspect of life but some people dread it.

Whether it’s breaking up an email war between colleagues at work, ending friendships that aren’t working out or biting the bullet and telling your spouse that their idea to paint the kitchen Golden-Pear Green just isn’t gonna fly with your colour palette (or appetite); we always have to jump into the fire and hope for the best every once in a while, it’s part of what makes us human and keeps life exciting. It’s a lot like breaking eggs when you think about it. Have you ever been making brunch or doing some baking, looked at an egg and admired how smooth and untarnished it is? If you stare at it too long it can be hard to bring yourself to break it. Or it can be like jumping into an indoor pool where the surface of the water is completely undisturbed like a massive shimmering pane of glass. Can you really bring yourself to break the calm?

This is a song which builds, starting very gradually and then very suddenly. You might be in a very calm but tense section and before you know it a few seconds later you might find yourself in the thick of the chaos.

So, jump right in, feel it build, don’t be afraid and remember… you will reach the other side of the forest at some point.
